Stock Loading Attachment

New stock loading attachment by Kea Trailers to allow easy loading, unloading and general handling of sheep, calves, pigs etc.

Stock Loading Attachment Ideal for lambing and other small-stock work, this Lite-A-Load attachment boasts a unique, in-built, spring-loaded stock ramp. This feature, together with the gate forms a barrier to the side, makes for easy shepherding onto the trailer without having to lift stock. The non-return internal wing allows farmers to deal with other stock without risk of those already loaded jumping off. The bi-folding exit gate, which is easy to use with just one hand if necessary, offers greater opportunity to control and manage thesafe exiting of stock. There is full upright access for farmers onto the trailer. Simple and fast to operate, the Lite-A-Load attachment eliminates any need for the farmer to bend, lift or climb, saving backs and making lighter work of loading and off-loading stock.

This is made by kea trailers in Hamilton in conjunction with Lite-A-Load products, Invercargill, has been made to attach simply to any Kea Trailer (can be fitted as and when required) therefore not having to have a dedicated trailer that can be used to only handle stock.

Stock Load Attachment Chris Gibb, a well respected physiotherapist in the rural sector in Southland, has viewed the Lite-A-Load attachment and its operation. She says…..

“The design feature on this trailer of the drop down ramp eliminates a very awkward lift, traditionally done with extended arms, which increases the force of the lift 10 times. The operation of lowering and raising the ramp is very safe as it uses the large muscle groups in the legs and body weight. The ease of operation of this attachment allows the loading of heavy sheep by workers who have reduced lumbar mobility and strength or less upper body strength. The trailer can be used safely by women in farming. This attachment design feature contributes to achieving a reduction in mechanical back pain in farming tasks".
